Filter driers have a cover which allows the filter blocks to be replaced. The filter carrier, which also acts as a filter sieve, holds the filter blocks in the casing. The liquid refrigerant enters the integrated filter via the nozzle on its side and flows inwards from outside through the filter blocks as well as through the filter carrier. The filter blocks consist of a drying agent compound based on molecular sieve aluminium oxide. GEA filter driers are designed for use in pipes for refrigerant fluids in refrigerating and air-conditioning systems that use fluorinated refrigerants as well as a cleaner-drier-combination on the suction side. They can be installed in systems which operate within the 35 to 465 kW power range and protect the system from moisture, dirt, acids, oil decomposition products and sludge sediments. The dimensions of the filter blocks comply with international standards.
